Maintaining Your MakerBot Replicator

There are a few things you can do to help your MakerBot Replicator (Original) keep on happily churning out printed items for a long, long time. Basic maintenance for your MakerBot Replicator involves replacing the Kapton tape on the build platform, lubricating the milled rods, and tightening bolts if they start to loosen. You should also update your firmware whenever a new version becomes available.

After a few months of printing, you may start having some extrusion trouble. If that happens, you can try cleaning the drive gear or replacing the plunger.
