Changing Filament Using PrintShop

How to Change Filament Using PrintShop (5th Generation MakerBot 3D Printers only)

    1. Tap the print status icon in the bottom right corner of the home screen. If you do not see this icon, you need to connect your printer.

    2. The print monitor panel will open. Tap Filament, then Unload Filament.

    3. Tap Continue. Remove the filament from your Smart Extruder only when prompted.

    4. Remove the old spool and replace it with the new spool. Tap Done.

    5. Tap Load Filament.

    6. Wait for the Smart Extruder to heat.

    7. Cut the end of your new filament to create a clean edge.

    8. Grasp the top of the extruder assembly and push the filament into the loading tube in the Smart Extruder until you can feel the motor pulling the filament in.

    9. Wait until you see plastic emerging from the extruder nozzle before tapping Done to finish the filament load process.

    Changing Filament during a Print

Access the filament load and unload tools during a print by tapping the filament icon. When you’re done changing filament, tap Resume to begin printing again.
