Connecting MakerBot Mobile to Your 3D Printer

In order to print from MakerBot Mobile you must connect the app to your MakerBot 3D printer.

How to Connect Your 3D Printer

    1. Make sure that your mobile device and MakerBot 3D printer are connected to the same Wi-Fi network.

    2. Open MakerBot Mobile, then tap the menu icon and select Printers. On Android, you can tap the printer icon in the top right corner instead.

    3. Tap on your device in the list that appears. You can also search for your MakerBot 3D printer by tapping Connect Manually to IP Address. If you do not know your 3D printer’s IP address, tap Not seeing your printer? at the top of the printer list for instructions.

    4. Confirm your network connection by pressing the control panel dial on a MakerBot Replicator or MakerBot Replicator Z18, or the Action Button on a MakerBot Replicator Mini.

If you are connected to more than one device, your most recently connected device will be shown in the list of available printers as your “Default Printer.” To set a different MakerBot 3D printer as the default, tap to select the 3D printer you want and then tap Use This Printer. To disconnect a printer, swipe left on the printer name in the list and tap Delete.

NOTE: MakerBot Mobile has limited compatibility with tablet devices. The application will need to be installed on an Apple or Android smartphone device. If you are having issues with the application, please install the MakerBot Print computer software.
