The Gen 4 Interface board is great for it allows you to operate your MakerBot without using your computer. Most of the issues that arise with the interface board kit can be traced to cold solders, or shorts in the wiring. With a multimeter, check for continuity between solder connections. Visually inspect your solder connections for cold solders (improperly fluxed solder connections) and make sure solder isn’t spilling over to some place it shouldn’t be.

If your red debug light is flashing, try flipping the 14 pin ribbon cable in the back, as it may be reversed.
