Hi.

I am investigating the possibility of driving two extruders at the same time with the Makerbot's Arduino. I have some experience with the Arduino and a lot of programming experience. Do you have any information and/or pointers I can look at for this purpose?

As far as I am aware there is no officially supported way to get the Makerbot to use two extruders.  However, there is someone on Thingiverse that has successfully got his makerbot to use two extruders.  You can check it out here:

I would contact him for more information on how this was accomplished.

You need a second extruder controller.
